Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026. This policy explains what GetPartFound LLC ("GetPartFound", "we") collects when you use this website, why, and who else receives it. GetPartFound LLC, 38961 Pioneer Blvd, Sandy, OR 97055. Questions: support@getpartfound.com.

What we collect

• No accounts. The site has no user accounts or logins, and browsing or searching never asks for your name, email or address.
• Order details. If you buy a part marked "Add to cart", the checkout (provided by Stripe) collects your name, email address, shipping address and phone number. We receive those with the order, together with the parts ordered, the amounts charged and the tax, and keep them with the order record to fulfil the order, email you the confirmation and tracking, and handle returns.
• Photos you upload for part identification. A photo search is analysed on our own server to find matching parts and is not saved. If you click "Read the label with AI", the photo is also sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to read the text on the part, and we keep a record of the result (the parts suggested) with your device identifier and an approximate location (country and state) worked out from your IP address. Before a photo is sent to a provider or kept, we remove its embedded metadata (EXIF), including any GPS location, camera details and time stamp. Please do not upload photos of people, documents or anything else you would not want processed.
• Search queries. When a search turns up nothing, or names a brand, model or part type we do not carry, we record the words typed so we can see what the catalogue is missing. When you click a link to a seller, we record the part, the link and the search that led to it. Clicks on links to Sears PartsDirect, Plumbing Deals and Easy Plumbing are not recorded. These records carry no account and no IP address.
• A device identifier. A random identifier is created in your browser and sent with photo reads, so usage limits apply fairly. It is not tied to your name.
• Server logs. Like any website, our server logs each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's description of itself.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page. GetPartFound never receives or stores your card number. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy, and sends the payment receipt.

Who else receives it, and why

• Our supplier. For an order, the supplier that ships the part receives the shipping name, address, phone number and the items ordered, to fulfil it, and nothing else about you.
• Stripe. To take the payment, as above.
• Our email provider. Order confirmation and shipping emails are sent through our email provider, Hostinger, so it handles your email address and the content of those emails.
• Affiliate networks. Some links to other sellers are affiliate links. Following one sends you to the seller; the link carries our affiliate account identifier and no personal information about you. The seller's own privacy policy applies on its site.
• AI identification provider. Photos you choose to have read with AI are processed by Anthropic to produce a result, as above.
• Fonts and site verification. Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, and currently include a small verification script from AvantLink, an affiliate network, so your browser contacts Google's and AvantLink's servers (sending your IP address) when a page loads.
• Hosting. The site runs on a rented server whose provider keeps standard access logs.
• eBay. When eBay listings are shown, their images, prices and buy links come from eBay's official API, and a buy link takes you to eBay, where their terms and privacy policy apply. This preview currently shows no eBay listings.
• A&I Products. Part data and photos are A&I Products' own, displayed with A&I's permission; photos appear as A&I publishes them, watermark included. We host those photos ourselves, so viewing a page sends nothing to A&I. The link on each part opens that part's page on A&I's store, where their terms and privacy policy apply. We have no affiliate relationship with A&I and earn nothing from that link.
• Affiliate retailers. Some parts are listed from the product feeds of Sears PartsDirect, Plumbing Deals and Easy Plumbing, through affiliate networks: links to Sears PartsDirect and Plumbing Deals go through Awin's tracking links (www.awin1.com) and links to Easy Plumbing go through Rakuten Advertising's LinkShare tracking links (click.linksynergy.com). The "See current price" button is that network's tracking link: following it takes your browser through the network's server, which receives your IP address and browser details like any web request and may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase, and then to the retailer's site, where the retailer's terms and privacy policy apply. We may earn a commission on a purchase there, at no extra cost to you. GetPartFound does not record your clicks on the links to Sears PartsDirect, Plumbing Deals and Easy Plumbing.
• Retailers' picture hosts. We do not store the pictures of those parts: they load directly from the retailers' image hosts (Sears PartsDirect: s.sears.com and Awin's images2.productserve.com; Plumbing Deals and Easy Plumbing: Shopify's cdn.shopify.com). When such a part is on the page, your browser requests its picture from that host, which receives your IP address and browser details like any image request.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

• Order records (name, shipping address, email, phone, items, totals and the order's history): 7 years after the order, for tax and accounting, then deleted.
• Card details: never held by GetPartFound; Stripe only.
• Server and access logs (IP address, browser description, requests): 90 days, then rotated out.
• Uploaded photos and their identification results: 12 months, used to run and improve GetPartFound's part identification, never sold and never shared beyond the service providers named above; then deleted, or sooner on request.
• Search queries: kept with no account or IP address attached, as a record of what people look for. The site has no accounts today; if we add them, search history linked to an account will be deleted with the account.
• Account data: the site has no accounts today. If we add them, account data will be kept while the account is open and deleted on request, except order records, which follow the order period above.

The deletions run automatically every day.

Cookies and local storage

The site sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser's local storage for three things: your cart (the parts and quantities you added, and the state you chose for shipping), whether you have dismissed the cart tip, and the random device identifier above. There are no logins and no session cookies. You can clear local storage in your browser settings at any time; that empties the cart. Stripe's checkout page, Google Fonts and AvantLink may set or read their own cookies under their own policies. Awin and Rakuten Advertising may set their own cookies when you follow one of their tracking links.

Your choices: access and deletion

To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email support@getpartfound.com. For an order, include the order number (GPF-...); for searches or photos, the approximate date and what you searched for or uploaded. We may need to keep order records that the law requires us to keep.

Children

This site is intended for adults sourcing equipment parts and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
