Tools Required: Multimeter (for continuity testing), screwdriver, and work gloves for safety. Additional Information: The Whirlpool Dryer Timer (part number WP3976577) is essential for managing the various cycles of an electric dryer. A common issue resolved by replacing this timer occurs when the dryer advances in the timed dry cycle but not in the automatic moisture sensing cycle. In such cases, it is crucial to verify the continuity through the resistor connecting to the timer via the orange wire. Use a multimeter to measure resistance; if it reads infinite, replace the faulty resistor with part number 279872. Should the issue persist after replacing the resistor, the timer itself may require replacement. Always ensure the dryer is unplugged before attempting installation to maintain safety. Wear appropriate gloves to protect your hands during the process. | Whirlpool Dryer Timer WP3976577 6.00 x 5.00 x 4.00 Genuine OEM
