This is a Genuine OEM Craftsman part. Basic InformationPart Name: Lawn Tractor Mandrel PulleyManufacturer: MTDCategory: Lawn TractorPrimary Function: Spins the mower deck blade for efficient cuttingInstallation & CompatibilityCompatible Models: Fits various MTD lawn tractor models. Please confirm this part is correct for your model before ordering. Installation Difficulty: Medium ? proper alignment is required for balanced operationTools Required: Socket set, wrench, work gloves Additional Information: The MTD Lawn Tractor Mandrel Pulley (part number 756-1227) transfers drive power from the mower belt to the blade spindle. This rotation enables the mower blade to spin at the correct speed for a clean, even cut. Replace the pulley if you notice symptoms such as a blade that won?t spin, uneven mowing results, or grinding noises from the deck. A worn pulley can lead to belt slippage, vibration, or cutting inconsistencies. Before starting the repair, disconnect the spark plug wire and park the tractor on a flat surface. Use a socket set and wrench to remove the old pulley and install the new one. Wear work gloves to protect your hands and check that the pulley sits flush and is properly torqued to avoid imbalance. Regular inspection and replacement of worn pulleys help preserve blade performance and protect the mower deck?s drive system.
