Part number 951-11106 helps keep the governor linkage aligned so the engine can adjust speed properly as load conditions change. If the bracket bends, loosens, or breaks, the governor arm may not move correctly. This can lead to engine surging, uneven RPMs, poor throttle response, or difficulty maintaining a steady operating speed. Disconnect the spark plug wire before starting the repair to prevent accidental engine startup. Handle the bracket carefully during installation and make sure it stays properly aligned, since misalignment can affect governor operation.
