Basic informationPart name: Snowblower auger housing plate, leftManufacturer: MTDCategory: Snowblower auger and housing componentsPrimary function: Covers and reinforces the left side of the auger housing to help protect internal componentsInstallation & compatibilityCompatible models: Fits select MTD and Craftsman snowblowers; confirm compatibility using your models parts diagramsInstallation difficulty: Medium; requires aligning the plate with the auger housing and securing fastenersTools required: Wrench set, socket set Additional Information: This snowblower auger housing plate, left, part number 790-00445-4044, mounts on the left side of the auger housing to cover and support the structure around the auger. It helps protect internal components from snow, ice, and debris while maintaining proper housing alignment and durability. If the housing plate bends, cracks, or becomes loose, snow and debris can enter the housing area, which may lead to accelerated wear of internal parts or interfere with the augers rotation. You might notice noise, vibration, or reduced auger performance if the plate does not fit securely. Disconnect the spark plug wire before starting the repair to prevent accidental startup. Housing plate edges and surrounding frame areas can have sharp surfaces, so wearing work gloves can help protect your hands during installation. Make sure the plate is aligned correctly and all fasteners are tightened securely before using the snowblower.
