It helps keep the housing at the correct height and protects it from contact with pavement, gravel, or other hard surfaces during use. If the skid shoe wears down excessively or becomes damaged, the housing can make direct contact with the ground, which may cause gouging, scratching, or faster wear of other components. You might notice uneven snow clearing, vibration, or a lower-than-normal clearance when working on hard surfaces. Disconnect the spark plug wire before starting the repair to prevent accidental startup. The skid shoe and hardware can have sharp edges, so wearing work gloves can help protect your hands during installation. Make sure the skid shoe is seated correctly and all fasteners are tightened securely before using the snowblower. | Mtd Snowblower Skid Shoe 790-00141 Genuine OEM
