Description
This is a Genuine OEM GE part. Basic informationPart name: Auger shaftManufacturer: MTDCategory: Snowblower auger and drivetrain partPrimary function: Supports and drives the auger assembly during snow collectionInstallation & compatibilityCompatible models: Fits select MTD snowblower models; confirm compatibility using your models parts diagramsInstallation difficulty: Medium; requires removing auger components to access and install the shaftTools required: Wrench set and socket set Additional Information: This auger shaft, part number 738-0492, runs through the auger assembly and transfers rotational force so the augers pull snow into the housing and toward the impeller. Proper shaft alignment helps maintain smooth auger rotation and balanced clearing performance. If the snowblower vibrates excessively, clears unevenly, or the augers bind or wobble during operation, the auger shaft may be bent, worn, or damaged. Difficulty turning the augers by hand or visible shaft wear can also indicate a problem. Before starting the repair, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Support the auger assembly securely, install the shaft straight through all mounting points, and tighten fasteners evenly so the augers rotate freely without contacting the housing. | GE Mtd Snowblower Auger Shaft 738-0492 Genuine OEM
