This is a Genuine OEM MTD part. Basic informationPart name: Choke knobManufacturer: MTDCategory: Snowblower engine control partPrimary function: Allows you to open and close the choke for cold starting and warm-upInstallation & compatibilityCompatible models: Fits select MTD and Troy-Bilt snowblower models; confirm compatibility using your models parts diagramsInstallation difficulty: Easy; presses or threads onto the choke shaftTools required: None Additional Information: This choke knob, part number 731-2825, attaches to the choke shaft so you can easily control the choke position when starting the engine. Proper choke control helps the engine start more reliably in cold conditions and transition smoothly to normal operation. If the choke is hard to adjust, will not stay in position, or the knob is cracked, loose, or missing, the choke knob may no longer grip the shaft securely. Poor control can make cold starting more difficult. Before starting the repair, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Install the knob fully onto the choke shaft and make sure it seats securely and moves the choke smoothly through its full range. Choke knob 731-2825 replaces part number 731-2005.
