Please confirm this part is correct for your model before ordering. Installation Difficulty: Easy ? no special tools requiredTools Required: Screwdriver Additional Information: The MTD Lawn Tractor Mulch Cover, part number 73109312, replaces previous part number 731-09312. It installs over the grass chute to convert your mower to mulching mode, keeping clippings in the deck so they?re finely chopped and returned to the lawn. This helps feed your grass naturally while reducing cleanup and bagging. Replace a missing or damaged mulch cover if your mower is leaving behind heavy clumps, creating uneven cutting paths, or showing signs of excess grass discharge. A snug-fitting mulch cover helps restore proper mulching performance and contributes to healthier turf. Before installing, turn off the lawn tractor and disconnect the spark plug wire. Slide the cover into place over the chute and secure it with a screwdriver. Make sure the cover fits tightly and completely blocks the discharge opening to maximize effectiveness.
