Basic informationPart name: Electric chute couplerManufacturer: MTDCategory: Snowblower chute control partPrimary function: Connects the electric chute motor to the chute rotation mechanismInstallation & compatibilityCompatible models: Fits select MTD and Craftsman snowblower models; confirm compatibility using your models parts diagramsInstallation difficulty: Medium; requires accessing the electric chute drive components to install the couplerTools required: Wrench set and screwdriver Additional Information: This electric chute coupler, part number 731-08795, links the chute rotation motor to the chute mechanism so motor movement transfers smoothly to the chute. A properly fitted coupler helps ensure responsive, consistent chute rotation when you use the electric controls. If the chute motor runs but the chute does not turn, turns intermittently, or slips under load, the coupler may be worn, cracked, or stripped. Excessive play or visible damage can prevent proper power transfer. Before starting the repair, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Install the coupler securely between the motor and chute components, and confirm the chute rotates smoothly without binding before reassembly.
