Proper shaft alignment helps the auger pull snow evenly into the housing. You might notice the auger does not turn smoothly, wobbles during operation, or fails to move snow effectively. Bent shafts, uneven rotation, or grinding noises from the auger area can also point to shaft damage. Disconnect the spark plug wire before beginning the repair. The auger shaft is a long metal component installed near sharp auger edges and heavy parts, so work gloves can help protect your hands during removal and installation. Align the shaft carefully and secure all fasteners before reconnecting the spark plug wire. Auger shaft 711-0910A replaces part number 711-0910.
