Proper auger alignment helps maintain steady snow intake and balanced clearing performance. If the snowblower leaves snow behind on one side, vibrates excessively, or makes unusual noises from the auger area, the right auger may be bent, worn, or damaged. Uneven clearing patterns or visible blade damage can also indicate a problem. Before starting the repair, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Auger edges can be sharp; wear work gloves and support the auger securely during removal and installation so it seats correctly and rotates freely.
