Installation Difficulty: Medium; requires a basic understanding of lawn equipment mechanicsTools Required: No special tools required, but basic hand tools may be helpful Additional Information: The Craftsman carburetor primer bulb (part number 640259) delivers a small amount of fuel into the carburetor to prime the engine for quicker starts, especially helpful in cold or damp conditions. This small but critical part helps eliminate hard-start issues that often happen after long periods of storage or repeated use. If your engine is slow to start or requires excessive pulling to fire up, a worn or cracked primer bulb could be the problem. Replacing it often solves hesitation and no-start symptoms. Work in a well-ventilated area and disconnect the spark plug wire before starting. If fuel is present, drain the tank to avoid spills. Once the old bulb is removed, insert the new one securely into place. Reconnect everything before testing the engine.
