EWATER+® uses electrolyzed water to automatically clean the spray wand and bowl, reducing the need for harsh chemicals while maintaining a higher level of hygiene. Slim SoftClose® Seat Design The slim SoftClose® seat combines a sleek, low-profile appearance with quiet, controlled operation. SoftClose® hinges gently lower the seat and lid to prevent slamming, reducing noise and everyday wear. Our Expert Review: TOTO S5 Ultra-Slim Washlet Bidet Seat Reviewed by: Expert Mack Overall Score: 4.5/5 Summary The Toto S5 Washlet is a big upgrade from its predecessors, moving into the realm of true luxury at a mid-to-high-tier price point. The standout feature is the instantaneous (tankless) heating, which eliminates the risk of running out of warm water—a major improvement over the C5. Combined with an ultra-slim design, four user memory presets, and all of TOTO's best hygiene technology, EWATER+ for chemical-free sanitization, the S5 delivers consistent, and personalized experience. Read the Review Read Less Review Performance: 5/5 The S5's performance is flawless. The instantaneous heating provides an endless, on-demand warm water spray with a stronger, more consistent feel than the C5's tank-based system. The aerated wash, with its oscillating and pulsating options, is refreshing and highly effective. The warm air dryer also features increased airflow compared to older models, noticeably trimming down drying time. The addition of the subtle in-bowl night light is a fantastic quality-of-life feature, making late-night trips much easier. User Experience: 5/5 TOTO has greatly improved the user experience with the S5. The ultra-slim design looks sleek and modern, and the seamless underside is easier to clean than the C5. The biggest user-facing improvement is the multifunction wireless remote with four user memory settings. This allows an entire family to save their favorite settings (temperature, pressure, position) and access them with a single button, a huge leap from the C5’s two presets. Installation remains simple with the quick-release docking station. Quality: 4.5/5 TOTO maintains its reputation for excellence. The S5 feels premium, durable, and is engineered for long-term reliability. It integrates an upgraded CLEAN RESIN coating on the wand and seat, actively resisting dirt and bio-film to maintain hygiene with less effort. The EWATER+ and PREMIST functions work seamlessly to keep the unit and the bowl cleaner. The only deduction is for the height, as the even more premium S7A achieves an even lower profile. Value: 4.5/5 The S5 is priced as a premium seat, but its value is exceptionally strong. It delivers all the crucial luxury features—instantaneous heating, EWATER+, deodorizer, night light, and four user presets—in a modern, slim design. Given the superior comfort and efficiency of the tankless heating and the significant feature upgrades over the C5 (which is now discontinued), the S5 represents the optimal blend of performance and cutting-edge technology for the price. It's a worthy investment that will last for years. Final Verdict If you want the most
